Hernando Cortes conquered the Aztecs with only
600 men. He was the governor of New Spain,
which is now New Mexico.

-Cortes conquered the Aztecs in 1519.

-Governor of New Spain from 1521-1528.

-In 1528, Cortes went back to Spain to
gain more power.

-Cortes led an expedition in the 1530's.


Personal Facts:

-Cortes was born in Castilian.

-Cortes grew up as a sickly child.

-He went to the University of Salamanca.
